Personal Evangelism I & II – 1 


An emphasis of the reasons for methods of personal soul winning. It will stress one on one confrontational evangelism. The student will learn many key verses and passages used by soul winners. He will learn to answer difficult questions and excuses people often give. More than anything this class seeks to create a burden in the heart of each student to win the lost to Christ. Weekly soul winning is required.

 

Personal Evangelism, Cults – 2


 

A study of the beliefs and practices of different religions. Aiming to prepare students to give an answer to the various cults that they will encounter.

 

Old Testament Survey I & II – 3


 

A foundational survey of the Old Testament. The purpose, distinctive, key characters, main events, major doctrines and a broad outline of each book is presented. The arrangement of the Old Testament is studied.

 

New Testament Survey I & II – 3


 

A foundation study of the New Testament. The purpose, distinctive, characters and events, major doctrines and a broad outline of each book will be presented. A good working knowledge of the New Testament should be the result. The arrangement of New Testament books as they relate to a timeline will be discussed.

 

Baptist History I & II – 2


Presented in this study is the survey of the Baptist Church from its beginning to the present. The influence of the American culture will be discussed as well. Great leaders of the Baptist movement will be examined.

 

King James Bible I & II – 2


A study on the origin of the KJV and how it compares to other translations.

 

Theology I & II & III – 3


 

A study of bibliology, angelology, anthropology, harmatiology, soteriology, Christology, pneumatology, ecclesiology and eschatology.

 

Life of Christ – 3


A chronological study of the life of Christ as presented in the four gospels. Special emphasis is given to His birth, baptism, temptation, transfiguration, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension.

 

 

Computer I & II – 2


This course will examine how a computer can aid the preacher in his ministry and aid the local church. A Bible study program is examined for the pastor’s personal study, desktop publishing, bulletins, flyers, etc. This class is taught in a computer lab.

 

Christian Manhood or Womanhood – 2


For women this course will provide instructive lessons on many diversified topics such as: the home, health, cooking, sewing, decorating, child rearing, etiquette, wardrobe and grooming, marriage, and more. And for men: the home, leadership, finances, health, etiquette, wardrobe marriage and much more.

 

Creationism I & II – 3


This course will deal with the history of the creation / evolution conflict, giving some focus on how the evolutionary world view has impacted society in all of its facets. This course will also deal with the positive Scriptural and scientific proofs of a divinely created universe and a young earth.

 

Church Music Philosophy – 2


A biblical approach to the purpose and structure of church music.

 

World Religions – 2


A study that informs the student on the beliefs and practices of religions in the world today.

 

Biblical Separation – 2


A thorough study of the doctrine of separation as it pertains to the individual Christian, the family, and the church. This course will not only deal with areas and things that we are to be separated from, but also what we are supposed to be separated unto. Students will learn the Scriptural principles behind separation to help them form deep convictions as opposed to living their lives as “spiritual conformists.”

 

Homiletics I & II – 2


A study of the preparation and delivery of sermons. This course is designed to instruct in selecting, outlining and gathering materials, as well as the actual delivery of the sermon. Instruction will be given on how to develop and utilize on introduction, conclusion, illustrations, etc. Messages will be prepared and preached in class. Often the sermons will be on video for future analysis.

 

Introduction to Christian Counseling – 3


This course will study counseling as found in the Bible. It will examine some of the methods of counseling from Scripture with some emphasis of the book of Proverbs and the instructions for life that aid in counseling. There will be an examination of some of the secular methods of counseling and problems or benefits they may provide.

Christian Counseling I & II – 3


This course examines the proper principles and guidelines involved in successful Christian counseling. The Christian must develop wisdom and discernment in dealing with his people concerning problems and decisions in their lives. This course examines that responsibility and how to prepare for it properly.

 

Biographies of Great Men – 2


A look at the lives of great men who have gone on before us.

 

Prayer – 2


Study of the importance of your prayer life. Prayer will be discussed from the Scriptures.

 

Poetic Books – 3


A study of the poetry division of the Old Testament (Job-Song of Solomon). Style of Hebrew writing will be discussed as well as the structure and themes of each of the books. The time of their writing and authorship will be correlated within the Old Testament timeline.

 

Personal Finance – 2


This course is designed to train students to handle personal financial matters as well as church and school budgets. Included in this course are setting up a family budget, dealing with credit, insurance coverage, checking and saving accounts, and techniques of comparison shopping.

 

Teaching Children – 2


This course is designed to offer a fresh approach to evangelizing and teaching children. Based on spiritual and educational principles, the course provides the methods and procedures to lead children to Christ and teach them from God’s word.

 

Church Education – 2


An introduction to the organization and administration of the church’s educational program. Special emphasis is given to the Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Church, camp ministry, nursery, youth ministry, and Christian day school.

 

English I & II – 3


A study of the English language concentrating on grammar, sentence structure, usage, punctuation and basic writing skills. The course will also teach basics of researching and writing a research paper, using a slightly modified MLA style. The student will learn the importance of good research, the use of different sources, and the mechanics of writing and basic grammar. The student will learn how to develop a working outline, a thesis statement, a bibliography, and the logical development of a research paper.

 

Romans – 3


Students engage in a detailed exposition of the Book of Romans, comprehending its theology at much greater depth than is achieved in a survey course.

 

Bus Ministry – 2


The bus ministry has been called the greatest evangelistic tool in the history of the local church. Millions upon millions of people have come to church, heard the Gospel preached, and had their lives forever changed since the introduction of the bus ministry. This course will teach you how to run an effective and consistent bus ministry.

 

Pauline Epistles I & II – 3


A historical, doctrinal and practical study of Romans, I and II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I and II Thessalonians, I and II Timothy, Titus and Philemon.

 

Church Administration – 2


The duties of the pastor are emphasized as they relate to the starting and/or administration of a local church. Church constitutions, parliamentary procedure, finances, budgeting, building programs, etc. are discussed.

 

Church Ministries – 2


This course seeks to teach effective and Scriptural means to reach the masses and minister to the needs of people. Such ministries as the bus ministry, elderly ministries, deaf work, jail and prison ministries, radio, senior citizens and more are covered.

 

Church Finances – 2


Focusing of the various aspects of finance within the local church, emphasis is given to the church budget, raising money, useful stewardship programs, asset management, IRS standards, and cash flow.

 

Speech – 3


A practical study giving the basic principles of public speaking with special emphasis on pulpit and platform technique. Voice quality and platform manner are stressed. Ample practice in delivering various types of speeches are included.

 

Pentateuch – 3


This course will analyze the first five books of the Bible. The main emphasis will be upon the development of the Jewish nation, though considerable time will be given to the issue of a literal creation. Basic arguments of the critics will be addressed.

 

General Epistles – 3


A historical, doctrinal and practical study of Hebrews, James, I and II Peter, I, II, and III John, Jude and Revelation.

 

Introductions to Missions – 3


This course gives an overview of the New Testament principle of missions as seen in the Book of Acts and Church Epistles. The course examines how these principles are applied and practiced in the church’s missionary endeavor today. The student will be given a biblical basis for the development of a strategy for world-evangelism through the local church. The indigenous principle is taught.

 

Prophetic Books – 3


This is a study of Obadiah, Joel, Jonah, Hosea, Amos Micah, Isaiah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Jeramiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. Special attention will be given to the Messianic passages and also those dealing with eschatology. How these writings fit into the overall timeline of the Bible will be shown.

 

Historic Books – 3


A chapter by chapter study of the historic books of the Old Testament (Joshua-Esther). The leading character and events are studied in the light of historical and practical lessons for Christian living today. Every book will be outlined, major theme given.

 

Expository Preaching – 2


This course deals with the philosophy, preparation and practical aspects of preaching in an expository manner. Sermons are prepared and preached in class. Videos are utilized so students can actually hear and see themselves deliver an expository sermon.

 

The Pastor’s Home – 2


This course is designed to help the prospective pastor understand his role and responsibilities for his home-life and the testimony of his family.

 

Bible Geography & Customs – 2


A study of the geography and customs of the people of the Bible. The use of many maps and the locating of places referred to in Scripture help the Bible come alive to all who study this course.

 

America’s Biblical History – 3


This course is a detailed examination of America’s early social, political, religious, and economic beginnings from the discovery of America to 1860. A special emphasis is placed upon the founding principles of our nation and its Christian heritage.

 

Church Secretary – 1


It details how to effectively run a church office, church records management, and how to be an effective assistant to the pastor.

 

Pastor’s Wife – 2


This course is designed to help the prospective pastor’s wife understand her role as the wife and the church’s first lady.

 

Teaching Reading & Language – 3


This course examines the methods and principles involved in teaching children to read, as well as a study of the other basic concepts in the language arts.

 

Culinary Skills I & II – 3


Our cooking classes will put you on the right path. Each lesson features up-to-date culinary tips and advice, not to mention tasty recipes. Topics include basic cooking techniques, seafood, meat and vegetable preparation, and more.

 

General Teaching Methods – 3


This is a course covering lesson planning, teaching methods, teaching techniques, evaluation, and practical classroom situations.

 

Mathematics I & II – 3


This course includes simple arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percent, proportions, “word problems,” properties of real numbers, exponents, and introduction to algebra.

 

Algebra I & II – 3


This course introduces vector spaces, Euclidean spaces, the foundational propositions of linear algebra, matrices, and quadratic forms.

 

Geometry – 3


A study of incidence geometry in planes and space, geometric inequalities, Euclidean geometry and the populations methods, transformation theory, and methods of construction.

 

Trigonometry – 3


Various methods of solving triangular problems are explained. The analytical function of trigonometry is demonstrated through investigations of identities and simple equations solutions. The additional topics of exponential and logarithmic functions, matrices, sequences, and probability are discussed.

 

Calculus – 3


An introduction to analytical geometry, functions, limits, differentiation of algebraic functions, applications, and integration.

 

 

Basic Typing – 1


Gets student up to speed with current typing standards.

 

Shorthand – 2


This class is dedicated to anyone who wishes to pursue their skill of speedwriting, acquire accurate note-taking abilities and capture a consistent and unique talent for the art of graceful writing.

 

 

Tests & Measurements – 1


This course will teach the student about various teaching methods and ways to measure their effectiveness.

 

Pastoring – 1


A study of the life, labors and relationships of a pastor. It will include consideration of the pastor’s study life, visitation, conducting weddings and funerals, and administration of the church ordinances. Pastoral ethics and pitfalls will also be discussed.

 

Between the Testaments – 2


This course teaches the history that transpired between the Old and the New Testaments and the significance of God’s silence during this period.

 

Genesis – 3


A thorough treatment of Genesis giving special attention to the Creation, the Fall, the Flood, the tower of Babel, the call of Abraham, and God’s dealing in and through the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.

 

Spanish – 2


This class will help you grow your Spanish vocabulary and learn the Spanish sentence structure. Upon completing this class you will be able to speak important phrases and build your own sentences in Spanish.

 

Hermeneutics – 3


This course is designed to be a practical class on how to study the Bible. Attention will be given to the rules of as well as the methods and tools for Bible study. Some time will be spent discussing the proper theological perspective to accurately interpret the Bible.

 

 

Sewing – 2


This course is designed to teach basic and intermediate sewing techniques, the use of machines, accessories, notions and appliqué.
